Ashley Featherston


  • Owner/Director

    With over 20 years of experience in early childhood education, Ashley brings unmatched dedication and leadership to Discovery Kids Academy. She holds both a Child Development Associate Credential and a Director Credential, and has spent her career serving as a lead teacher, center director, and advocate for high-quality childcare.

    As Director, Ashley oversees all day-to-day operations — from licensing and compliance to staff development, financial management, and family services. Her leadership style is grounded in care, compassion, and a deep understanding of what children, families, and educators need to thrive.

    Ashley’s vision is to set a new standard for childcare in North Dakota by creating a nurturing, educational, and community-centered environment where every child is protected, supported, and empowered to grow.

Steven Featherston


  • Director of Facilities and Safety

    Steven brings a mission-driven mindset and a strong background in leadership and safety to his role at Discovery Kids Academy. With years of experience serving as a firefighter and leading teams in high-pressure environments, he is deeply committed to protecting the wellbeing of the children and staff in our care.

    As Director of Facilities and Safety, Steven oversees all aspects of facility maintenance, safety compliance, and expansion projects. He conducts regular inspections to ensure our environment meets the highest safety standards and ensures that all staff maintain up-to-date CPR and First Aid certifications.

    Steven believes that Discovery Kids Academy is more than a school — it’s a vital part of our community’s future. His dedication to operational excellence, safety, and the success of every child is at the heart of everything he does.
